Meet the Cleveland (Medina) Instructors
Andrew
Andrew, who goes by Drew, is a former Sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was trained as a Primary Marksmanship Instructor and Range Coach in addition to being deployed twice in support of OIF. He is an avid shooter who puts safety first and fun at a close second!
Jared
As a civilian, I maintain my CCW. I was in the U.S. Army for 8 years as a Military Police Officer in a combat support company. I was deployed to Guantanamo Bay as a prison guard in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. As MPs, we trained and qualified regularly on handguns, rifles, and crew-served weapons.
I enjoy sharing my experiences with our training and recreational guests every day!
Jason
Jason is an active airline pilot and a former Federal Aviation Officer. The passion for shooting sports has always been a part of his life, and now he gets to pass that enthusiasm for safe firearms handling and shooting skill-building down to our customers!
Driven by a true commitment to fostering an environment where customers can safely come to build or enhance their shooting skills at any level, his primary goal is making sure that you have a truly engaging experience.
Jason
Jason combines his expertise as an Army veteran with his role at Engage Virtual Range. His goal is to ensure that every customer not only trains in a safe environment but also has a truly enjoyable and memorable experience.
As a teacher, Jason values continuous learning and the joy it brings, principles he eagerly shares with all who visit the range.
Michael
Mike has actively worked in security and law enforcement for over 20 years. Mike has enjoyed countless hours shooting with friends and family.
Mike's passion is making safe firearms training easy, accessible, and fun for everyone. Mike gets the most satisfaction from seeing new shooters evolve as they build their skills and confidence with firearms.
Myron
Myron is a retired police officer and US Army Veteran with over 30 years of firearm experience. He enjoys teaching firearm usage and safety, focusing on the fundamentals, so the user can develop muscle memory and feel confident and proficient. He looks forward to passing on his experience for the customer to use while training or just having fun at EVR.
Terry
Terry is a retired 30-year veteran of the Ohio State Highway Patrol. He is passionate about sharing a lifetime of firearms training knowledge and experience in a way accessible to shooters at every skill level.
Terry has become known by our customers to tailor his training to each reservation's needs and desires. He's skilled at teaching valuable shooting skills while also ensuring our customers have fun!
Thomas
Tom is a retired Federal Probation Officer who served as an assistant firearms instructor with the Northern District of Ohio office for 5 years. He enjoys working with people who have no firearms experience to becoming confident shooters.
OH Gun Laws and Regulations
Anyone at least 21 is legally entitled to carry a firearm in Ohio. Additionally, Ohio requires no permit, background check, or firearms registration when purchasing a gun from a private individual.
Concealed carry is legal in Ohio without a license except in any business selling alcohol or vehicles. Since it is not mentioned in any state statutes, the Federal minimum age for possessing a handgun of 21 years old applies. The minimum age to carry concealed handguns is also 21.
Ohio is now a "stand your ground" state based on the Governor's signing of SB 175 on January 4, 2021. That means there is no duty to retreat before using force in self-defense, defense of another, or defense of that person's residence, provided the person is in a place where the person has the lawful right to be. Excellent training in a realistic environment
I've been to Engage Virtual Range several times now. The training was excellent and really improved my targeting and accuracy skills. I appreciated the focus on safety as well. The staff was professional, helpful, and fun! I give them a 10/10
A different kind of date night
We had a fantastic experience doing Engage’s valentines couples competition. It was our first time visiting and Jared made us feel very welcome. He led us through the basics and did a great job making both of us feel comfortable and competitive. Great spot for beginners and avid shooters- it’s the Top Golf of gun ranges. I especially liked that they are very serious about gun safety and proper handling- even though the guns are just light sensor guns. (One does have a CO2 cartridge if you want a more realistic experience!) We plan on returning for our occasional date nights. Highly recommend!
Had a blast learning
My first experience at Engage was great! Went with a friend for 90 minutes. Mike, our instructor, was fantastic! Led us through everything from basic drills to competition shoots and even a shoot house scenario! Improved our skills while having a blast. We will definitely be back!
